A discussion between the Shaykh and one of the students working in the field of cupping people, and how to deal with those who have high blood pressure from cupping and the like?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: For each person, some differ from others.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh: So there is a person who gets cupped such that it is not appropriate to take from him half a cup.

The questioner: Yes, you are correct.

The Shaykh: And there is another who needs more.

The questioner: Correct, based on the abundance of blood.

The Shaykh: Or so on, in this distinction, there is no distinction in this al-Kahli.

The questioner: You are correct, Shaykh, but you previously answered our question regarding the force of the blood; you mentioned the redness or the lack of redness.

The Shaykh : That is it.

The questioner: This is a point, and there is a second point for knowing the strength of a person's blood from the eye, from the human eye.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner: So approximately, I can determine approximately how much, meaning the strength of this person's blood. For example, a person who has strength before I cup him, when I look at his eye, I know and say, meaning your blood is strong, and indeed it shows with me in the cup during the suction. One whose blood is lighter, I say your blood is lighter, and likewise it shows with me during the blood suction. This is one thing. The other thing, I used to think that the color of the blood has an effect regarding the suction from this person, but I sat with one of the professors in medicine, and he explained the situation to me completely, where he said: Black blood is in the vein, and red blood is in the artery. So if black blood comes out with you, then this black blood has come from the vein, and if it comes out red, it has come from the artery. And this is, of course, the words of this doctor, meaning, I benefited greatly from him, which is that one of the young men who cups here, this Sufi man in Na'our, what does he think? He thinks that he should keep sucking the black blood from the person until the red blood appears with him at the edge of the cup. So perhaps, perhaps he means he sucks all the black blood in the vein, and when the vein's blood is finished, the person dies immediately. This is what the man there believes; he told me this. So, praise be to Allah, I knew that the color of the blood does not have a major effect if I know the strength of the person's blood, or if the person himself is a blood examiner and knows.

The Shaykh: Beautiful, but what follows from your knowledge of the strength of the blood?

The questioner: It follows that, for example, if a person's blood is strong, from the beginning of the suction, the quantity appears, and I know that I will take from him such an amount from this person. If his blood is weaker, I say: this one needs only this much, meaning with this suction, I do not suck from him more than this.

The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner: I will be making temporary cups now, for example, I brought ten cups from Syria with me.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner: And I went to the glass factory so that I could find what I needed, and the glass factory does not make cups except when it heats the furnace, and the furnace is heated manually, meaning, every period it is heated. So now we agreed that it makes for me cups that are transparent in color.

The Shaykh: Good, so I have a question, will you bear with me, if Allah wills?

The questioner: Please, Shaykh, I seek forgiveness from Allah.
