The Shaykh : This is also good news for the believer. When he is tested with a calamity, he should not think that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) hates him; rather, this may be a sign of Allah’s love for the servant. He tests him (Glorified and Exalted is He) with calamities. If the person is pleased and patient, and seeks reward from Allah, then for him is [His] pleasure. If he is displeased, then for him is [His] displeasure. In this is an encouragement for the person to be patient with calamities until [His] pleasure is recorded for him by Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). And success is from Allah.
