How do we reconcile your statement that a Prophet is not sent to people with the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And We sent no messenger or prophet"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says:The questioner : You said that a Prophet is not sent, so how do we reconcile this with the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And We sent no prophet or messenger وما أرسلنا من نبي ولا رسول
?

The Shaykh : May Allah help us. They have lied to us in our gathering. Did we say that a Prophet is not sent? We did not say that. We said that a Prophet is not a Messenger. A Prophet is one to whom Allah revealed a law and made him worship according to it, but he was not sent to anyone. For example, Adam was a Prophet, but he was not a Messenger. To whom would he be sent? His descendants were few, and they worshipped in the manner of their father. When the people multiplied and differed, Allah sent the Messengers. Read the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Mankind was [of] one religion [before their deviation]; then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners and sent down with them the Scripture in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed. كان الناس أمة واحدة فبعث الله النبيين مبشرين ومنذرين وأنزل معهم الكتاب بالحق ليحكم بين الناس فيما اختلفوا فيه
[Al-Baqarah 2:213]
When they differed, Messengers were sent to them to judge between them in what they differed over. As for the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke وما أرسلنا من قبلك من رسول ولا نبي إلا إذا تمنى
[Al-Hajj 22:52]
, it is as it is. Every Messenger is a Prophet, but not every Prophet is a Messenger, and there is no difficulty in this.
