The Shaykh : Because al-hamd is describing the one who is praised with perfect attributes. This is al-hamd: describing the one who is praised with perfect attributes. It is not al-thana (praise) as is well-known among many scholars when they say al-hamd; they say it is praising Allah with good. Some of them say with voluntary good, and the like of that. Because the Qudsi Hadith, the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2953Sahih (Darussalam) meaning al-Fatihah فإذا قال الحمدلله رب العالمين قال حمدني عبدي فإذا قال الرحمن الرحيم قال أثنى عليّ عبدي So when he says, “All praise is to Allah, Lord of the worlds,” He says: My servant has praised Me. And when he says, “The Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy,” He says: My servant has praised Me., he distinguished between al-hamd and al-thana. The important thing is that when a person combines tasbih and al-hamd, he has combined affirming perfection for Allah and negating defects from Him.
As for His saying, its meaning is: seek from Him forgiveness. And forgiveness is overlooking the sin and covering it up. That is, making forgiveness combine covering the sin and overlooking it. This is from the implication of its derivation, for it is taken from al-mighfar, which is what is placed on the head in war to protect from arrows. So it is a protector and a cover.
As for His saying[An-Nasr 110:3], in it is that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is described with abundant acceptance of repentance, due to His saying . And it is a form of exaggeration for the abundance of those who repent, so they repent, and when they reach Him, Allah repents toward them. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is Tawwab (One who repeatedly accepts repentance) toward His servant, with a repentance prior to his repentance and a repentance subsequent to it, as He the Exalted said [At-Tawbah 9:118]. So the prior repentance is that Allah guides the servant to repentance, and the subsequent repentance is that Allah accepts his repentance when he repents to Him. And repentance has five conditions:
The first is sincerity to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in the repentance.
And the second is regret over the sin that occurred from him.
And the third is ceasing from it immediately.
And the fourth is resolving not to return to it.
And the fifth is that the repentance be in the time in which it is accepted. If the repentance is in a time in which it is not accepted, then it does not benefit. So if a person repents when his death approaches, he does not benefit from this repentance, due to His saying the Exalted[An-Nisa 4:18]. Now it does not benefit. And for this reason, Pharaoh did not benefit from his repentance when drowning overtook him. It was said to him [Yunus 10:91].
And the second [time] in which repentance is not accepted is when the sun rises from its west. Then the people will believe, but[Al-An'am 6:158]. And a person should increase this dhikr in ruku' and sujud Sahih al-Bukhari 4293, for it combines dhikr and du'a'. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to increase saying it in his ruku' and sujud after the revelation of this surah. And Allah is the One who grants success.
Allah, the Most High said: "I have divided the Salat between Myself and My slaves into two halves

Indeed, He is ever Accepting of repentance.

And the fifth is that the repentance be in the time in which it is accepted. If the repentance is in a time in which it is not accepted, then it does not benefit. So if a person repents when his death approaches, he does not benefit from this repentance, due to His saying the Exalted
But repentance is not [accepted] of those who [continue to] do evil deeds up until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "Indeed, I have repented now,"
