The Shaykh : Then the author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, regarding the verses he cited: [Al-Kahf 18:29] The truth is from Allah, the Exalted, from the Lord who created the creation and who has the right to obligate upon His servants whatever He wills, so the truth is from Him, and it is obligatory for us to accept it. [Al-Kahf 18:29] The evidence for this is the end of the verse, where He says: [Al-Kahf 18:29] So whoever wills, let him believe, and he will have the great reward, and whoever wills, let him disbelieve, and upon him will be the painful punishment, and he will be among the wrongdoers. As Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah 2:254] In this is a threat to whoever does not believe in Allah, the Exalted, and that the truth is clear and apparent, brought by Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) from the Lord of the worlds. So whoever is guided has been granted success, and we ask Allah for guidance for us and for you. And whoever goes astray, may Allah protect us from that, has been abandoned, and Allah is the One to be sought for help.

And say, "The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve."
وَقُلِ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ فَمَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيُؤْمِنْ وَمَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَكْفُرْso whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve
فَمَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيُؤْمِنْ وَمَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَكْفُرIndeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a fire whose walls will surround them. And if they call for relief, they will be relieved with water like murky oil, which scalds [their] faces. Wretched is the drink, and evil is the resting place.
And the disbelievers - they are the wrongdoers.

Then declare what you are commanded
فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُAnd when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged, with a wretched punishment, because they were defiantly disobeying.
