The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, as he presented the verses, or some of the verses regarding the benefits and rulings of taqwa (mindfulness of Allah): We have previously discussed two of the verses of Allah, namely His saying:[Ali 'Imran 3:102] and His saying: [At-Taghabun 64:16]. Then the author presented the third verse, which is His saying: [Al-Ahzab 33:70-71]. Thus, Allah the Exalted commanded two things: to fear Allah and for a person to speak a sound word, meaning a correct one. We have previously discussed taqwa, which is performing the commands of Allah and avoiding His prohibitions. As for the sound word, it is the correct word, and it includes every word that contains good, whether it is from the remembrance of Allah, from seeking knowledge, from enjoining good and forbidding evil, from pleasant speech by which a person wins the affection and love of people, or otherwise. This is summarized by the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2500Sahih (Darussalam). The opposite of that is the unsound word, which is a word that is not correct but rather erroneous, either in its subject matter or in its context. It is erroneous in its subject matter if it is harsh speech that includes cursing, insulting, backbiting, talebearing, and the like. Or it is erroneous in its context, meaning that the word itself is good, but saying it in that place is not good, for every occasion has its appropriate speech. If you say something that is not bad in itself but causes harm if said in that context, do not say it, for this is not a sound word but rather an erroneous one, even if it is not forbidden. For example, if a person sees someone committing an evil and forbids him from it, but he forbids him at a time when he should not say anything to him, or he is harsh with him in his speech, or the like, this is considered an unsound word. If a person fears his Lord and speaks a sound word, he achieves two benefits: [Al-Ahzab 33:71]. Through taqwa, there is the rectification of deeds and the forgiveness of sins, and through the sound word, there is the rectification of deeds and the forgiveness of sins. It is known from this verse that whoever does not fear Allah and does not speak a sound word is likely that Allah will not rectify his deeds for him nor forgive his sins. Thus, it contains an exhortation to fear Allah and an explanation of its benefits.
And He the Exalted said, and this is the fourth verse:[At-Talaq 65:2-3] Whoever fears Allah, meaning he does what he is commanded to do and leaves what he is forbidden from doing, He will make for him a way out. A way out from what? From every difficulty. Whenever something becomes difficult for him while he is mindful of Allah Mighty and Majestic, He will make for him a way out, whether that is in his livelihood, his wealth, his children, his community, or otherwise. As long as you are mindful of Allah, be confident that Allah will make for you a way out of every difficulty, and rely on this, for it is the word of the One who says to a thing, "Be," and it is. [At-Talaq 65:2] And how many are those who feared Allah and He made for them a way out of that? The story of the three men who were trapped in a cave: a rock fell on the entrance of the cave and blocked it. They tried to move it but were unable to. So each of them sought nearness to Allah Mighty and Majestic through his good deeds, and Allah relieved them and the rock moved. Allah made for them a way out. And there are many examples of this.
[At-Talaq 65:2-3] This is also a great benefit: that Allah provides for you from where you do not expect. For example, if a man earns money through a forbidden means, such as deception or riba (usury or interest), and he is advised in this matter and leaves it for the sake of Allah, then Allah will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect. But do not be hasty. Do not think that if the matter is delayed, it will not happen. Allah may test the servant by delaying the reward to test whether he will return to the sin or not. For example, if you were dealing in riba and someone admonished you and you left it, but you remained for a month or two without finding profit, do not despair. Do not say, "Where is the provision from where I do not expect?" Wait, trust in the promise of Allah, and believe in the promise of Allah, and you will find it. Do not be hasty. For this reason, it came in the hadith: , meaning if he supplicates , they said, "How does he hasten, O Messenger of Allah?" . Be patient, leave what Allah has forbidden you, and wait for relief and provision from where you do not expect. And success is from Allah.
The reader: He (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Chapter on Taqwa. And Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Anfal 8:29] And the verses in this chapter are numerous and well known."
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
We have previously discussed several verses, four verses regarding taqwa, its ruling, and an explanation of what is in them and what fruits they have.
As for this fifth verse, it is His saying:[Al-Anfal 8:29]. These are three great benefits:
The first benefit: He says:[Al-Anfal 8:29], meaning He will make for you that by which you distinguish between truth and falsehood, and between harm and benefit. This includes knowledge, in that Allah opens for a person sciences that He does not open for others. Thus, through taqwa, there is an increase in guidance, an increase in knowledge, and an increase in memorization. For this reason, it is mentioned from al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said:
"I complained to Waki' of my poor memory, *** So he directed me to leave sins.
And he said, "Know that knowledge is light, *** and the light of Allah is not granted to a disobedient person."
And there is no doubt that the more a person increases in knowledge, the more he increases in understanding and in distinguishing between truth and falsehood, and between harm and benefit. Also included in this is what Allah opens for a person in terms of comprehension, for taqwa is a cause for strong comprehension, and strong comprehension leads to an increase in knowledge. You see two men who memorize a verse from the Book of Allah; one of them is able to extract three rulings from it, for example, and the other is able to extract four, five, or ten, according to what Allah has given him of comprehension. Thus, taqwa is a cause for an increase in comprehension. Also included in this is insight (farasah), that Allah gives the one who fears Him an insight by which he distinguishes, even among people, merely by seeing a person, he knows whether he is a liar or truthful, whether he is righteous or a sinner. He may even judge a person whom he has not associated with and knows nothing about, because of the insight Allah has given him. Also included in this are the miracles (karamat) that occur for the righteous which do not occur for others.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, as he presented the verses, or some of the verses regarding the benefits and rulings of taqwa (mindfulness of Allah): We have previously discussed two of the verses of Allah, namely His saying:
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared
So fear Allah as much as you are able
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins.
And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, then let him say what is good or remain silent.
He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins
And He the Exalted said, and this is the fourth verse:
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (3) And will provide for him from where he does not expect.
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (3) And will provide for him from where he does not expect.
It is answered for one of you
يستجاب لأحدكمas long as he does not hasten
He said: He says, "I supplicated, then I supplicated, then I supplicated, and it was not answered for me."
The reader: He (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Chapter on Taqwa. And Allah the Exalted said:
if you fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The first benefit: He says:
He will grant you a criterion
I complained to Waki' of my poor memory, *** So he directed me to leave sins.
And he said, "Know that knowledge is light, *** and the light of Allah is not granted to a disobedient person."
