The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted: "From 'Umar ibn Abi al-Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
I was a boy in the care of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and my hands would move about in the dish. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O boy, say the name of Allah the Exalted, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is near you." And that has remained my way of eating ever since.
