The dhikr recited upon hearing thunder: there is no harm in saying it, even though the Sunnah is not established for it.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Some scholars have mentioned that if you see lightning, you should say: "Subhan Allah wa bihamdih (Glory be to Allah and with His praise), and if you hear thunder, say: Subhan alladhi yusabbih al-ra'd bihamdih wa al-mala'ikah min khifatih (Glory be to Him who causes the thunder to glorify Him with His praise, and the angels out of fear of Him)". This is a dhikr that is not harmful, but there is no established Sunnah from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding it. If a person says it, there is no harm, and it is hoped that it will be beneficial. If he leaves it, there is no harm. If, for example, he sees bright lightning and intense thunder, and seeks refuge in Allah from its evil, saying: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from its evil," and similar words that a person says when afraid, this is also from what the Sunnah has come regarding in its origin and type, even if it did not come in this exact form. The result is that, praise be to Allah, on this day, as you have witnessed, we received heavy rain, praise be to Allah, and two days ago it was the same. So we must thank Allah for this blessing. Also, some people showed me today's news report, which indicates that most of the cities of al-Qasim, praise be to Allah, including Naqrat al-Suqur and Jai, praise be to Allah, have had their wadis flow. Some of the brothers also told me that the wadis have flowed, specifically Wadi al-Nasa and the wadi next to it. All of this is from the blessings of Allah. So we ask Allah to increase us in His bounty, to make it a beneficial rain, and to provide relief for the hearts, the lands, and the servants.
