The reciter: In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted: "From 'Utbah ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who was among those who witnessed Badr, he said:
I used to pray for my people, Banu Salim, and a wadi lay between me and them. When the rains came, it was difficult for me to cross it before their mosque. So I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said to him: I have noticed a change in my eyesight, and the wadi between me and my people flows when the rains come, making it difficult for me to cross. I wish you would come and pray in my house in a place I would designate as a prayer spot. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will do so. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came in the morning after the day had become hot. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked permission to enter, and I gave it to him. He did not sit down until he said: Where would you like me to pray in your house? I pointed to the place I wanted him to pray. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, said the takbir, and we lined up behind him. He prayed two rak'ahs, then said the taslim, and we said the taslim when he did. I detained him for a meal of kha'irah that was being prepared. The people of the house heard that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in my house, so some men came until the house was full of men. A man said: What has happened to Malik? I do not see him. Another man said: That is a hypocrite who does not love Allah and His Messenger. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not say that. Do you not see that he said: There is no god but Allah, seeking thereby the Face of Allah the Exalted? He said: Allah and His Messenger know best. As for us, by Allah, we do not see his affection or his conversation except with the hypocrites. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah has forbidden the Fire for the one who says: There is no god but Allah, seeking thereby the Face of Allah
