The reader: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and all his Companions:
He said (may Allah have mercy on him): "Book of Manners: Chapter on Modesty, Its Virtue, and the Exhortation to Adorn Oneself with It:
And from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father): Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
And from Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him and his father), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 37a Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim".
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his book *Riyad al-Salihin*: "Book of Manners: Chapter on Modesty, Its Virtue, and the Exhortation to It":
Manners are the moral qualities by which a person conducts himself, and they are of many types: among them are generosity, courage, good nature, an open chest, a pleasant face, and much else. Manners are a term for moral qualities with which a person adorns himself, for which he is praised, and among them is modesty. Modesty is a quality in the soul that leads a person to do what is beautiful and adornment, and to leave what is defiling and shameful. So you find that if he does something that contradicts dignity, he is ashamed, ashamed of people. And if he does something forbidden, he is ashamed of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And if he leaves an obligatory duty, he is ashamed of Allah. And if he leaves what should be done, he is ashamed of people. Modesty is part of faith. For this reason, Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) mentioned:, admonishing him regarding modesty, meaning that he encourages him to it and makes him desire it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified that modesty is part of faith. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in another hadith: Sahih Muslim 35b. And when a person has modesty, you find him walking in a straight manner, not with the haste for which he is blamed, and not with the swaying for which he is also blamed. Likewise, when he speaks, you find that he does not speak except with good, with kind words, with manners, and with an elevated style according to his ability. And if he is not modest, he does whatever he wishes, as came in the authentic hadith: Bulugh al-Maram 16:89, . The virgin is the woman who has not married, and her custom is to be modest. So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was more modest than a virgin in her chamber, but he does not shy away from the truth. He speaks the truth and proclaims it, and he does not care about anyone. As for what does not lead to the loss of rights, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most modest of people (peace and blessings be upon him). So, O my brother, you must practice modesty and manners and adorn yourself with the good moral qualities for which you are praised among people. And success is from Allah.
He said (may Allah have mercy on him): "Book of Manners: Chapter on Modesty, Its Virtue, and the Exhortation to Adorn Oneself with It:
And from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father):
That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man from the Ansar who was admonishing his brother regarding modesty, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave him, for modesty is part of faith"
أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مرَّ على رجل من الأنصار وهو يعظ أخاه في الحياء، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: دعه، فإن الحياء من الإيمانAnd from Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him and his father), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Modesty brings forth nothing but goodness
