Question:
Regarding the hadith in al-Tirmidhi, which al-Tirmidhi graded as good (hasan) (“The most beloved of My servants to Me are those who break their fast the earliest”)?

Answer:
Yes?
The student: There is a point of consideration regarding this grading as good; because the chain of narration depends on Qura ibn Abd al-Rahman, who is weak due to his poor memory. I brought the chain with me: Imam al-Tirmidhi said: Chapter on what has come regarding hastening the breaking of the fast: It was narrated to us by Ishaq ibn Musa al-Ansari, who said: It was narrated to us by al-Walid ibn Muslim from al-Awza'i from Qura ibn Abd al-Rahman from al-Zuhri from Abu Salama from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah saidقال الله 
: The most beloved of My servants to Me are those who break their fast the earliest. It is stated in al-Khulasah: Qura ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Ma'afiri narrated from al-Zuhri and Abu al-Zubayr, and from al-Layth and Ibn Lahi'ah. Ibn Hibban considered him trustworthy, and Ibn Adi said: I hope there is no harm in him, and Ahmad said: The hadith is very denounced (munkar), and Ibn Yunus said: He died in the year 47. Muslim paired him with the last generation, and al-Hafiz said: He is truthful (siddiq) but has narrations that are denounced (munkarat) from the seventh generation, and he attributed him to Muslim...
The Shaykh: It is most likely that such a hadith has corroborating narrations (shawahid); such a hadith has corroborating narrations that indicate the correctness of its narration in this regard.
Q: In Muslim’s narration in the supporting chains (mutaba'at)?
The Shaykh: Yes, in the supporting chains, this is his custom. The hadith:
The people will remain upon goodness as long as they hasten to break the fast.لا يزال الناس بخير ما عَجَّلوا الفِطْر
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 699Sahih (Darussalam)
testifies to this for it.
