The Shaykh’s remarks on the hadith: “My community will remain in a state of well-being as long as they hasten to break their fast and delay the pre-dawn meal.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : There is a hadith that has long been neglected because of another hadith, and the general public has been unable to reconcile the two in practice and action. It is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
My community will remain in a state of well-being as long as they hasten to break their fast and delay the pre-dawn meal. لا تزال أمَّتي بخير ما عجَّلوا الفطر وأخَّروا السحور
. Here, two matters have been neglected by most people: hastening to break the fast and delaying the pre-dawn meal. As for the neglect of the first matter, which is hastening to break the fast, it appears to some to contradict another hadith, which is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him and his companions):
My community will remain in a state of well-being as long as they hasten to perform the Maghrib prayer. لا تزال أمَّتي بخير ما عجَّلوا بصلاة المغرب
Sunan ad-Darimi 2:28
. So here, there are two matters regarding hastening in two things, and it appears to some that it is not possible to hasten in both matters simultaneously. Peace be upon you.
The student : Move forward a little.

The Shaykh : Make the circle smaller, make the circle smaller; that is better in terms of the Shari'ah, better in terms of the Shari'ah, if the ground does not bother you, as it is cold.
The student : Like a mosque.

The Shaykh: Yes.
The student : Like a mosque, by saying.

The Shaykh: Perfect.
