The Ruling on Writing the Prayer and Blessings upon the Mention of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it obligatory to write the prayer upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) when he is mentioned in writing?

Answer:
This is the apparent ruling when he is mentioned and when he is heard, when he is written and when he is heard. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
Similar to 644 except it has "Shame on" rather than "Wretched is;"رغم أنف امرئ ذُكرت عنده..
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 646
Jibril said to him:
Similar to 644 except it has "Shame on" rather than "Wretched is;"رغم أنف امرئ ذكرت عنده فلم يصل عليك، قل: آمين، فقلت: آمين
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 646
And this indicates the obligation
May the nose of a man be crushed...رغم أنف امرئ..
May Allah send blessings upon him.
Q: If a person writes the Messenger and then prays upon him verbally but does not write it?
The Shaykh: The intended purpose is achieved, but if he writes it, that is better; so that he assists the reader.
