What are the best times for supplication?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is the best supplication when a person is in prostration?

Answer:
As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The nearest a servant come to his Lord is when he is prostrating himself, so make supplication often.أقرب ما يكون العبد من ربه وهو ساجد فأكثروا الدعاء
Sunan Abi Dawud 875Sahih (Al-Albani)
narrated by Muslim in the Sahih, and in another hadith he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Glorify your Lord in Ruku' (bowing posture) and exert yourself in supplication in prostration. Thus your supplications are liable to be accepted.أما الركوع فعظّموا فيه الرب، وأما السجود فاجتهدوا في الدعاء فقَمِنٌ - يعني حَرِيٌّ - أن يُستجاب لكم
Riyad as-Salihin 1427
also narrated by Muslim.
Also, at the end of the prayer before the taslim is a place for supplication, and between the two prostrations: "My Lord, forgive me, my Lord, forgive me." So if he supplicates along with the seeking of forgiveness, there is nothing wrong with it.
Q: Whether it is in the obligatory prayer or the voluntary prayer?
The Shaykh: In the obligatory and the voluntary, yes.
