Ruling on saying: “You are divorced, divorced, divorced” with the three forbidden pronouncements
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: From Abdulaziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz, to the honorable brother, A. A. A, may Allah preserve him and take care of him, amen.
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. After that:
Your letter dated 7/9/1392 AH has reached us, may Allah guide you. It contained the information that your wife spoke to you in an inappropriate manner, so you said to her while in a state of anger: “Go to your father’s house, you are divorced. Divorced. Divorced with the three forbidden pronouncements, and by Allah, no woman will be lawful to me again; she is lawful to the Jews but not to me,” and so on, as you mentioned.
And the answer: Based on what you have mentioned, your aforementioned wife has become permanently divorced from you by a major divorce, and she is not lawful to you until she marries a husband other than you; a marriage of desire, not a marriage for the purpose of making her lawful again, and he must have intercourse with her; because you completed the three pronouncements of divorce with multiple words, and you clarified your intention by saying: “with the three.”
And I ask Allah to replace each of you with something better than the other, and to make the outcome good for everyone, for He is the best of those asked.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
