Ruling on one who divorces by saying: (You are divorced, so divorced, so divorced)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: From 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Baz, to the honorable brother / A. M., may Allah guide him to all good, amen.
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. After that:
Your letter dated 19/1/1393 AH, may Allah guide you, has arrived, and what it contained regarding your informing us that you divorced your wife by saying to her: You are divorced, then divorced, and you took her back after nine days from the occurrence of the divorce, and then after a period of time passed, you divorced her in writing with three divorces using this text: Divorced, so divorced, to the end of what you mentioned, and your desire for a fatwa was known.

Answer: If the reality of the divorce is as you described, then she has become separated from you by a major separation, and she is not lawful for you until she marries a husband other than you; a marriage of desire, not a marriage of dissolution, and he must have intercourse with her, because you have exhausted the three divorces with multiple phrases. And Allah the Exalted said:
And if he has divorced her [for the third time], then she is not lawful to him afterward until [after] she marries a husband other than himفَإِن طَلَّقَهَا فَلاَ تَحِلُّ لَهُ مِن بَعْدُ حَتَّىَ تَنكِحَ زَوْجًا غَيْرَهُ
[Al-Baqarah 2:230]
the verse [al-Baqarah:230], and the intended divorce by this is: the third divorce by the consensus of the scholars of knowledge.
May Allah protect everyone from the whispers of Satan, and may He replace each of you with something better than the other; He is the best of those asked.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
