The ruling on one who swears an oath to do something and then sees that something else is better

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: A woman swore an oath to her family that she would not return to the house, and after a period of time she returned to the house. Please inform us what is the ruling in this matter. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer: If a person swears an oath, saying: "By Allah, I will not visit so-and-so," or "By Allah, I will not enter so-and-so's house," or "By Allah, I will not speak to so-and-so," or "By Allah, I will not eat so-and-so's food," or the like of that, and then he sees that it is in the interest to abandon his oath, there is no harm. He must pay the expiation for the oath; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
and whenever you take an oath to do something and later you find that something else is better than the first, then do the better one and make expiation for your oath.إذا حلفت على يمين ورأيت غيرها خيرًا منها، فكفر عن يمينك وأت الذي هو خير
Sahih al-Bukhari 6622
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
By Allah, Allah willing, if I ever take an oath, and then see that another is better than the first, I make expiration for my (dissolved) oath, and do what is better and make expiration.والله إني -إن شاء الله- لا أحلف على يمين، فأرى غيرها خيرًا منها، إلا كفرت عن يميني وأتيت الذي هو خير
Sahih al-Bukhari 6718
. This is what he (peace and blessings be upon him) said.
