As for hand drums, singing, and the like, I have some reservations about that.
If a person says: Is this one of the festivals?
The answer is: This is not one of the festivals; this is expressing joy when there is a reason, such as preparing a wedding feast for someone returning from a journey, and the like.
We should be careful in judging things and not be hasty, because we are not legislators, but rather we are followers of the Shari'ah. Therefore, we must be careful until we know whether the Shari'ah has prohibited this or not.
Then let it be known that the original ruling for matters other than acts of worship is permissibility and lawfulness, except for what has been explicitly prohibited.
