A question regarding the expiation for accidental killing

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: The brother / M. Sh. from Riyadh. He says in his question:
An accident occurred between my car and the car of one of the citizens in the month of Rajab last year, 1418 AH, which resulted in the death of my mother (may Allah have mercy on her) shortly after she arrived at the hospital. The traffic department assigned 75% of the fault to the citizen who caused the accident, and 25% to me on the grounds of speeding. My brothers and sisters and I have waived our rights against the citizen for the sake of Allah.
My question is: Do I have to fast two consecutive months as a result of my mother’s death with me, knowing that I am 46 years old and suffer from diabetes, and I will find it difficult to fast?
2- If I have to fast, when does the fasting begin? Does it have to be from the beginning of the month, or is it permissible for me to fast from the middle of it, or any day of it, and then complete the two months?
May Allah reward you and preserve you.

Answer: Upon each of you is the expiation for accidental killing, which is: freeing a believing slave. So whoever does not find one, then he must fast two consecutive months. And if he fasts sixty consecutive days, that is sufficient, whether he fasts from the beginning of the month or the middle of it. And success is from Allah.
