Answer: If a Muslim forgets to mention the name of Allah when slaughtering, or when shooting game, or when sending out a trained dog to hunt, then the slaughtered animal is lawful, and so is the game if he finds it dead; for Allah the Exalted said: : [al-Baqarah:286]. It is authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: , as narrated by Muslim in his Sahih.
