A Question Concerning the Sending of Prayers and Peace upon the Prophets and Messengers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The brother A. S. H. from Cairo says in his question: When I read in some religious books and the mention of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) comes up, they say after his name (peace and blessings be upon him) or "upon him be prayers and peace." And when the mention of any other prophet or messenger comes up, they say "upon him be prayers and peace" or "upon him be peace." And when I asked one of the brothers about that, he said: That (peace and blessings be upon him) is specific to our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and that "upon him be prayers and peace" is specific to the resolute ones among the messengers, and that "upon him be peace" is specific to those other than them. And since it was mentioned in the Noble Qur'an on the tongue of 'Isa ibn Maryam (peace and blessings be upon him), who is one of the resolute ones among the messengers, the saying of the Exalted:
And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive."وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
[Maryam:33], I was in doubt about the saying of this brother, so I hope for information: is there a difference? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
I do not know of a difference in this matter between all the prophets and messengers. And Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said at the end of al-Saffat:
Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe.سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ۝
[As-Saffat 37:180]
and peace upon the messengers and all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds [al-Saffat:180-182]. May Allah guide them all.
