The tenth question of Fatwa No. ( 5611 ):
Q10: Howmany are the prophets and messengers (peace be upon them all)?
A10: Only Allah knows their number; as He the Exalted said:[Ghafir 40:78] , and the known ones among them are those mentioned in the Qur'an or whose authenticity is established by the Sunnah. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
Q10: Howmany are the prophets and messengers (peace be upon them all)?
A10: Only Allah knows their number; as He the Exalted said:
And We have already sent messengers before you. Among them are those [whose stories] We have related to you, and among them are those [whose stories] We have not related to you.
