Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I am a woman who is committed to the teachings of my religion—praise be to Allah—but I do not know how to recite the Qur'an with proper tajwid or to recite it as it should be, and there is no one to teach me. So, should I continue to read the Qur'an in my current state? Please guide us, may Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
You must strive to read the Qur'an with contemplation and care, and there is no blame on you; for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 798a.
So, you should strive to read the Qur'an, contemplate the letters, and be diligent in achieving good pronunciation. If it becomes easy for you to find someone to teach you—whether your brother, your father, or someone else, or a woman who is skilled in recitation whom you can read to—then be diligent. And Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.

One who is proficient in the Qur'an is associated with the noble, upright, recording angels; and he who falters in it, and finds it difficult for him, will have two rewards.
