The Ruling on Believing in Faith Without Deeds to Follow It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is correct belief sufficient without deeds and adherence to the Shari'ah of Allah?

Answer:
Belief alone is not sufficient without deeds; deeds are necessary:
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deedsإِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ
[al-Baqarah:277]. Deeds are necessary: one must believe in Allah and His Messenger, affirm the oneness of Allah, and perform deeds, fulfilling the obligations of Allah and abstaining from the prohibitions of Allah. Both are necessary:
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure.إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ النَّعِيمِ
[Luqman:8]. Both faith and deeds are necessary.
