The Ruling on One Who Denies the Seeing of Allah in the Hereafter

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is the seeing of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) established, and what is the evidence? What is the stronger position regarding this? And do the hypocrites see Him on the Day of Resurrection?

Answer:
The seeing of Allah in the hereafter is established among the people of the Sunnah and the community. Whoever denies it commits disbelief. The believers will see Him on the Day of Resurrection and will see Him in Paradise as He wills, by the consensus of the people of the Sunnah, as He said (peace and blessings be upon him):
[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاضِرَةٌ ۝
[Al-Qiyamah 75:22]
LOOKING TOWARD ITS LORD [Al-Qiyamah: 22-23], and He the Exalted said:
For them who have done good is the best [reward] and extraلِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا الْحُسْنَى وَزِيَادَةٌ
[Yunus: 26].
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explained the increase as looking at the Face of Allah, and the hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that the believers will see their Lord on the Day of Resurrection and in Paradise are mass-transmitted. However, He is not seen in this world, as He said (Glorified and Exalted is He):
Vision perceives Him notلَا تُدْرِكُهُ الْأَبْصَارُ
[Al-An'am: 103], and He said to Musa:
You will not see Me.لَنْ تَرَانِي
[Al-A'raf: 143].
It is established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
And know that no one will see his Lord until he diesواعلموا أنه لن يرى أحد ربه حتى يموت
So this world is not a place for seeing; because seeing is a blessing, and seeing Allah is the highest blessing of the people of Paradise. This abode is not the abode of blessings, but the abode of sorrows, the abode of grief, and the abode of obligation. So He is not seen in this world, but He is seen in the hereafter; the believers see Him.
As for the disbelievers, they are veiled from Him, as He the Exalted said:
No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned.كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَمَحْجُوبُونَ
[Al-Mutaffifin: 15]. So the disbelievers are veiled from Allah on the Day of Resurrection, and the believers see Him in the hereafter.
The correct view is that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not see his Lord. As for the hypocrites, there is a place for consideration. Some narrations indicate that this day will come upon the nation, and among them will be their hypocrites, but there is no explicit statement that they will see Him on the Day of Resurrection.
