Affirming the Believers' Vision of Their Lord on the Day of Resurrection and the Response to Those Who Disagree

The Shaykh : And based on this, it is derived from this noble verse [Yunus 10:26] that the people of Paradise see Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Do they see Him with a spiritual vision or a visual vision? The first or the second?
The student: The second.
The Shaykh : The people of Paradise see Allah (Mighty and Majestic) with a spiritual vision or a visual vision? A visual vision. They see Him with their eyes, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2554Sahih (Darussalam) And in another hadith: And in the hadith of Sunan an-Nasa'i 1305Hasan (Darussalam). There is nothing sweeter, more pleasant, or more delicious than the believers' vision of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in Paradise. I ask Allah the Exalted to grant me and you success for that. And thus we believe with a firm creedal belief that the believers see Allah (Mighty and Majestic) on the Day of Resurrection in Paradise with their eyes, just as they see the moon on a clear night, and they are not hindered in seeing Him. If someone were to ask: Did not Allah the Exalted say to Musa when he said: [Al-A'raf 7:143]? Who knows the answer? Be patient, I am not asking you for guidance. Did not Allah say to Musa when he said, "My Lord, show me Yourself so I may look at You," "You will not see Me"? Yes, that is a mistake.
The student: Yes.
The Shaykh : Yes, that is right. Yes, that is right. Well, that is right. Rest a moment. But Musa asked Allah for the vision in this world, and the vision in this world is not possible for anyone to see Allah (Mighty and Majestic) ever, because the eyes cannot bear it. For this reason, Allah gave him an example and said, "Look at the mountain." The mountain, as we all know, is a solid mass of thick, sturdy stones. If it remains in its place and stays as it is, then you will see Me. When his Lord appeared to the mountain, what happened to the mountain? He made it crumble. It collapsed, and then Musa fainted. He lost consciousness because he saw a tremendous matter that his soul could not bear. When he came to, he said, "Glory be to You, exalting You above what they describe, and You are greater than everything. I repent to You, and I am the first of the believers. I repent to You." From what did he repent? Did Musa sin so that he would say, "I repent to You"? Answer, everyone. Please.
The student: Asking for the vision.
The Shaykh : No.
The student: Because he asked for the vision, O Shaykh.
The Shaykh : Rest a moment. He asked for what he had no knowledge of. He asked for what he had no knowledge of. For this reason, when Nuh said:[Hud 11:45], what did Allah say to him? [Hud 11:46] And for this reason, Musa repented from this question. Allah is the Helper.

كما ترون الشمس صحوا ليس دونها سحابI askYou for the sweetness of looking upon Your face and a longing to meet You in a manner that does not entail a calamity that will bring about harm or a trial that will cause deviation.
