The Ruling on Praying the Greeting of the Mosque at Sunset

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is the greeting of the mosque prayed at sunset?

Answer:
The correct view is that it is one of the prayers with a specific cause. So if one enters the mosque, he prays the greeting of the mosque. Likewise, if the sun eclipses after the afternoon prayer, he prays the eclipse prayer, because it is one of the prayers with a specific cause. This is the correct view. Prayers with a specific cause are performed in the prohibited times, such as the eclipse prayer and the greeting of the mosque, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When you see the eclipse, hasten to prayerإذا رأيتم الكسوف فافزعوا إلى الصلاة
. The eclipse prayer, and likewise the recommended practice of tawaf is one of the prayers with a specific cause; if one performs tawaf after the afternoon prayer, he prays two units of prayer after the tawaf, based on the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
You descendants of ‘Abd Manaf must not prevent anyone who goes round this House and prays at any hour of the night or day he wishes.يا بني عبد مناف! لا تمنعوا أحدًا طاف بهذا البيت أو صلى أي ساعة شاء من ليل أو نهار
Mishkat al-Masabih 1045
; because the prayer of tawaf is one of the prayers with a specific cause.
