The ruling on the greeting prayer of the mosque after 'Asr

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I entered the mosque before the Maghrib prayer. Should I pray the greeting of the mosque, or should I sit?

Answer:
The Sunnah is to pray the greeting of the mosque if it is before sunset; this is one of the prayers with a cause, so you should pray it according to the correct view, and then sit. However, if it is after sunset, there is no problem; you pray the greeting of the mosque and then sit, because the time of prohibition has passed. But the disagreement among scholars lies in the case where one enters before sunset; this is where the disagreement is: should one pray or not?
The correct view is that it is prescribed for the person who enters to pray two rak'ahs if he enters after 'Asr, before the sun sets, and then sit; because this prayer is called one of the prayers with a cause. It is called one of the prayers with a cause, meaning it has a cause, which is entering, so he prays it and then sits.
Likewise, if the sun is eclipsed after 'Asr, the eclipse prayer is prayed because it is one of the prayers with a cause. And likewise, if one performs tawaf after 'Asr in Makkah, performing tawaf around the Ka'bah, he prays the two rak'ahs of tawaf after 'Asr, or after Fajr, because they are among the prayers with a cause.
