The reciter: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious,
the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
He (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Chapter on the recommendation that the one who serves the people drinks last. Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who said:
The one providing water for people is the last of them to drink. ساقي القوم آخرهم شربًا
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1894Sahih (Darussalam)
Al-Tirmidhi narrated it and said: 'A good, authentic hadith' "

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said in the book *Riyad al-Salihin*: "Chapter on the recommendation that the one who serves the people drinks last", meaning that the one who serves the people with water, milk, coffee, or tea should be the last of them to drink, so that he may be selfless and so that any loss falls upon the server himself. This is undoubtedly the best way to comply with the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and to adopt the etiquette of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). However, if he does not feel like drinking, it is not obligatory for him to drink after them; if he wishes, he drinks, and if he wishes, he does not. The important thing is that he be the last if he intends to drink, because of the selflessness involved and the compliance with the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This also indicates that a person should serve his brothers by giving them drink. If he is the host, he should offer them drink or food, as Ibrahim (peace be upon him) did when he brought a roasted calf and presented it to them, saying, "Will you not eat?" So the host presents the food, serves the drink, and is the last of the people. Then, is it better for him to join them in eating, whether for lunch, dinner, or breakfast, or is it better for him to leave and not join them? This depends on the custom of the people. If joining them is more pleasant for the hearts of the guests present and more comforting, then he should be with them. If the matter is the opposite and it is customary that a person does not eat with his guests, then he should not eat. This is a matter that returns to custom. If the custom is that honoring the guest means not eating with him so that he feels free to eat whatever he wishes, then do not eat. If the matter is the opposite, then eat. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, then let him honor his guest. من كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فليكرم ضيفه
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2500Sahih (Darussalam)
and he did not specify the type of honor, so in that regard, one returns to what is customary among the people. And Allah grants success.
