All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
He, may Allah have mercy on him, said: “The Book of Clothing. Allah, the Exalted, said:[Al-A'raf 7:26] And He, the Exalted, said: [An-Nahl 16:81] It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 994Hasan (Darussalam) It was narrated by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said: It is a good, authentic hadith. And it was narrated from Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2810Sahih (Darussalam) It was narrated by al-Nasa'i and al-Hakim, who said: It is an authentic hadith. And it was narrated from al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was of medium build, and I have certainly seen him in a red garment, and I have never seen anything more beautiful than it. It is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.”

We have previously spoken about the beginning of this chapter, the Chapter of Clothing, and about its first verse, which is the saying of Allah, the Exalted:[Al-A'raf 7:26] The author mentioned another verse, which is the saying of Allah, the Exalted: [An-Nahl 16:81] Sarabil are armor, meaning like our clothing here; shirts, armor, and the like are called sarabil. Regarding sarabil, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: [An-Nahl 16:81] As for the sarabil that protect us from harm, they are iron armor, made of iron. In the beginning, they wore them during war and fighting, because they protect a person from the arrows coming at him, as they consist of iron rings woven together. As Allah, the Exalted, said, and He knows what He taught David: [Saba 34:11] They place these armors; when a person wears them and arrows, spears, or swords strike them, they hit this iron and protect him from harm. As for His saying: [An-Nahl 16:81] One might ask: Why did He not say “protect you from the cold”? The scholars answered this by saying that this is based on an implied, omitted phrase, meaning “protect you from the heat and protect you from the cold.” However, He mentioned the heat because the surah is Meccan, revealed in Mecca, and the people of Mecca do not have cold. So Allah mentioned His favor upon them with these sarabil that protect from the heat. It was also said that there is nothing omitted in the verse, and that the armor which protects from harm protects a person from the heat of the arrows, while the light sarabil that protect from the heat protect from atmospheric heat, and that one protects from the heat coming from arrows and the like. This is because if a person in hot weather did not have sarabil to protect him from the heat, the heat would scorch him, his skin would turn black, and he would be harmed and dry out. But Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, made these sarabil that protect from the heat as part of His bounty, Blessed and Exalted is He.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
He, may Allah have mercy on him, said: “The Book of Clothing. Allah, the Exalted, said:
