Explanation of Riyad al-Salihin-61a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: "And Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
A woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! The men have taken away your discourse, so set aside a day for us from yourself in which we may come to you and you may teach us of what Allah has taught you." He said: "Assemble on such and such a day." So they assembled, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them and taught them of what Allah had taught him. Then he said: "None of you women presents three children but that they will be a shield for her from the Fire." A woman said: "And two?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And two."

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said in the book *Riyad al-Salihin*: "Chapter on the virtue of one who is left with young children": meaning the chapter on the virtue granted to one who is left with young children, meaning he seeks reward from Allah the Mighty and Majestic and is patient.
Then he mentioned the hadiths of Anas, Abu Hurayrah, and Abu Sa'id, all of which indicate the virtue of this: that if a person is left with young children who have not reached the age of accountability, they will be a shield for him from the Fire by virtue of His mercy for them, because these young children are the object of mercy. When children grow up, they become independent and their father does not feel for them the same mercy he feels for young children. So if he has young children who die and he seeks reward from Allah, and they are three, they will be a shield for him from the Fire, so the Fire will not touch him except for the breaking of an oath. By "the breaking of an oath," he means the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(71) And there is none of you except he will come to it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed. (72) Then We will save those who feared Allah and leave the wrongdoers within it, on their knees.
[Maryam 19:71-72]
.
In the hadith of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), regarding the gathering of the women until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them, taught them of what Allah had taught him, and informed them:
That no woman dies leaving behind three children who have not reached the age of accountability but that the Fire will not touch her except for the breaking of an oath. A woman said: "And two?" He said: "And two."
: And on this basis, this is also from the favor of Allah, that if two children, male or female, die for a person and he is patient and seeks reward, that will be a shield for him from the Fire. And success is from Allah.
