Reading the statement of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he transmitted: "

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted: "From 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived with captives, and there was a woman among the captives moving about. When she found a child among the captives, she took him and pressed him to her belly and nursed him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you think this woman would throw her child into the Fire? We said: No, by Allah. He said: Allah is more merciful to His servants than this woman is to her child.
, agreed upon.
And from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When Allah created the creation as He was upon the Throne, He put down in His Book: Verily, My mercy predominates My wrath.
Sahih Muslim 2751a
. In another narration:
It has prevailed over My anger.
In another narration:
It has preceded My anger.
, agreed upon.
And from him (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
Allah made mercy one hundred parts, so He retained with Him ninety-nine and sent down one part to the earth. From that part, all creation show mercy to one another, until the beast lifts its hoof from its young for fear of harming it.
Sahih Ibn Hibban 62:11
.
In another narration:
There are one hundred (parts of) mercy for Allah and He has sent down out of these one part of mercy upon the jinn and human beings and animals and the insects, and it is because of this (one part) that they love one another, show kindness to one another and even the beast treats its young one with affection, and Allah has reserved ninety nine parts of mercy with which He would treat His servants on the Day of Resurrection.
Sahih Muslim 2752c
, agreed upon.
Muslim also narrated it from the narration of Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Indeed, Allah the Exalted has one hundred mercies, of which one mercy is that by which creation show mercy to one another, and ninety-nine are for the Day of Resurrection.
.
In another narration:
Indeed, Allah the Exalted created one hundred mercies on the day He created the heavens and the earth, each mercy being the equivalent of the space between the heavens and the earth. He placed one of them on earth, by which a mother shows affection for her child, and wild animals and birds show affection for one another. When the Day of Resurrection comes, He will complete it with this mercy.
.
And from him (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
By the One in Whose Hand my soul is! If you do not commit sins, Allah would replace you with a people who would commit sins and seek forgiveness from Allah; and Allah will certainly forgive them.
Riyad as-Salihin 1871
, narrated by Muslim.
And from Abu Ayyub Khalid ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
Had you not committed sins, Allah would have brought into existence a creation that would have committed sin (and Allah) would have forgiven them.
Sahih Muslim 2748a
, narrated by Muslim.
And from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
We were seated around God's messenger, Abu Bakr, ‘Umar and some others being with us, when God's messenger got up and left us. He delayed for some time, which made us fear that he might be attacked by some enemy when we were not with him; so being alarmed we got up. I was the first to be alarmed. I therefore went out to look for God's messenger and came to a garden belonging to the B. an-Najjar, a section of the Ansar, I went round it looking for a gate, but failed to find one. Seeing a rabi’ (i.e. a streamlet) flowing into the garden from a well outside, I drew myself together and went in to where God's messenger was. He said, “Is it Abu Huraira?" I replied, “Yes, messenger of God." He said, “What do you want?" I replied, “You were among us, but got up and went away and delayed for a time, so fearing that you might be attacked by some enemy when we were not with you, we became alarmed. I was the first to be alarmed, so when I came to this garden I drew myself together as a fox does; and these people are following me." Addressing me by name he gave me his sandals and said, “Take away these sandals of mine, and when you meet anyone outside this garden who testifies that there is no god but God, being assured of it in his heart, gladden him by announcing that he will go to paradise."
Mishkat al-Masabih 39Sahīh (Zubair `Aliza'i)
, narrated by Muslim.
And from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with them both): That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the words of Allah the Majestic in Ibrahim (peace be upon him): "My Lord, indeed they have led much of mankind astray. So whoever follows me, he is of me. And whoever disobeys me—You are the Forgiving, the Merciful," and the words of 'Isa (peace be upon him): "If You punish them, indeed they are Your servants, but if You forgive them, indeed You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise." He raised his hands and said: "O Allah, my nation, my nation," and he wept. So Allah the Majestic said: "O Jibril, go to Muhammad, and your Lord knows best, and ask him what is making him weep?" So Jibril came to him, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed him of what he had said, and he was the one who knew best. So Allah the Exalted said: "O Jibril, go to Muhammad and say: We will please you in your nation and not make you unhappy." , narrated by Muslim"
