These are hadiths explaining the virtue of supplication and what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to supplicate with or command. Among them is the hadith of Husayn that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3483Da’if (Darussalam) And in a narration: Inspire me to do what is right, meaning: Make me successful in doing what is right. Rightness is the opposite of misguidance, and misguidance is sins, evil, and corruption. If a person is made successful in rightness, he is successful, and this is the goal of the believers about whom Allah said: [Al-Hujurat 49:7] This is rightness. Also, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked by al-'Abbas for something to supplicate to Allah, so he said: Sahih Muslim 713a Then he came to him after days and asked him, so he said: Sunan Abi Dawud 5074Sahih (Al-Albani) Well-being is safety from every evil. If Allah makes you successful in it and grants you well-being from every evil, whether evil of bodies, hearts, desires, or others, then you are in good. Also, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to frequently make this supplication: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 683 And it has come before that he supplicated with another similar supplication: Sahih Muslim 2655 If you combine them and say: " O Allah, O Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your obedience. O Allah, O Turner of hearts, turn my heart toward Your obedience " this would be better. Also, this is the supplication reported from Dawud (peace be upon him): Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3490Hasan (Darussalam) This is also among the important supplications. If Allah loves you and you love those whom Allah loves, you will be among His close friends. And you will also love the deeds that Allah the Mighty and Majestic loves. This is also a supplication that a person should constantly adhere to, for the love of Allah the Mighty and Majestic is the goal, as He the Exalted said: [Ali 'Imran 3:31] And among them is also: And other hadiths mentioned by the author. We have previously guided you, or we told you, to write them from the book and read them, because memorizing them at this time may be difficult for a person. But if he takes them and starts memorizing them little by little, it will become easy for him. And success is from Allah.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) made many supplications which we did not memorize. We said to him: "O Messenger of Allah! You have made many supplications of which we do not remember anything." He said, "Shall I tell you a comprehensive prayer? Say: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min khairi ma sa'alaka minhu nabiyyuka Muhammadun sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Wa 'a'udhu bika min sharri mas-ta'adha minhu nabiyyuka Muhammadun sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Wa Antal-Musta'anu, wa 'alaikal-balaghu, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (O Allah, I beg to You the good which Your Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) begged of You; and I seek refuge in You from the evil where from Your Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) sought refuge. You are the One from Whom help is sought and Your is the responsibility to communicate (the truth). There is no power or strength except with Allah the Exalted, the Great."
One of the supplications of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was: "Allahumma inni as'aluka mujibati rahmatika, wa 'aza'ima maghfiratika, was-salamata min kulli ithmin, wal-ghanimata min kulli birrin, wal-fawza bil- jannati, wannajata mina-nar (O Allah! I beg You for that which incites Your Mercy and the means of Your forgiveness, safety from every sin, the benefit from every good deed, success in attaining Jannah and deliverance from Fire)."
