Continuation of the explanation of the author's statement: "And Allah has cursed the one who slaughters for other than Allah."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
He said, may Allah have mercy on him: "Chapter on the permissibility of cursing the doers of sins who are not specifically identified
It is established in the authentic collections that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allah
Sahih Muslim 1978b

And he said:
he who made any innovation in it. or gave protection to an innovator, there is upon him the curse of Allah, that of the angels and that of all the people
Sahih Muslim 1371a
And he said:
O Allah, curse Ra'ila, Dhakwan, and Asiya; they defied Allah and His Messenger
"

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
These are three categories of people whom it is permissible to curse in a general sense. It has been mentioned previously that it is not permissible to curse a specific person, even if he is a disbeliever. That is, it is not permissible to say, "O Allah, curse so-and-so," even if he is a disbeliever. However, in a general sense, there are hadiths regarding various categories. What has been mentioned previously is part of this, and what will be mentioned later is part of this, if Allah wills.
Among this is the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allah
Sahih Muslim 1978b
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allah
Sahih Muslim 1978b
This is because slaughtering for other than Allah is shirk (associating partners with Allah), for it is worship. If a person directs worship to other than Allah, he is a mushrik (one who associates partners with Allah). Allah the Exalted said:
"Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (163) No partner has He قل إن صلاتي ونسكي ومحياي ومماتي لله رب العالمين لا شريك له
[Al-An'am 6:162-163]
And He said:
So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone].
[Al-Kawthar 108:2]
So He commanded prayer and commanded the slaughtering, and that it is for Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Just as the one who prays for other than Allah is a mushrik, the one who slaughters for other than Allah is a mushrik. This is when the slaughter is done as an act of worship, to draw near to the deity, or to show reverence. However, if the slaughter for other than Allah is done as a form of hospitality, such as honoring a guest, for example, if a guest comes to you and you slaughter an animal for him to offer to him so he may eat it, there is no harm in that. In fact, this is something that is commanded, based on the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, then let him honor his guest.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2500Sahih (Darussalam)
If it is part of honoring a guest to slaughter an animal for him in honor of his arrival, then this is something that is commanded.
Sometimes one slaughters for other than Allah, meaning with the intention of eating. A person wants to eat meat, so he slaughters an animal intending to eat it. This is also not shirk. This is a normal matter; a person eats it as food. But shirk occurs when he slaughters it as an act of worship, to draw near, or to show reverence, such as what some people do for their kings, leaders, or scholars. When they arrive, they slaughter an animal in front of him as a sign of honor and reverence. This is major shirk that takes one out of the religion. And in addition to it being shirk, Allah has forbidden Paradise to its doer:
and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
[Al-Ma'idah 5:72]
Its doer is also cursed, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allah
Sahih Muslim 1978b

And among that is also what he mentioned in his saying:
he who made any innovation in it. or gave protection to an innovator, there is upon him the curse of Allah, that of the angels and that of all the people
Sahih Muslim 1371a
Whoever introduces in it من أحدث فيها
meaning in the city
made any innovation in it. or gave protection to an innovator
Sahih Muslim 1371a
The incident here is intended to mean two things:
The first: for an innovation, so whoever innovates in it has introduced something new in it, by his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
every novelty is an innovation, and every innovation is an error
Sunan Abi Dawud 4607Sahih (Al-Albani)
so he who made any innovation in it
Sahih Muslim 1371a
meaning he innovated in the religion of Allah what Allah did not legislate in the city
let the curse of Allah and that of the angels and of all people be upon him
Sahih Muslim 1367
meaning he deserved to be cursed by every one who curses, and may Allah protect us from that, because the city is the city of the Sunnah, the city of the Prophethood, so how can one introduce an incident that is contrary to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family)?
The second type of "innovation" is fitnah (trial, discord or temptation). That is, if one causes fitnah among the Muslims, whether it leads to the shedding of blood or to something less than that, such as enmity, hatred, and division. Whoever introduces this innovation, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all of mankind.
As for the one who commits a sin in the city of Madinah, defying Allah in it, this threat does not apply to him. Rather, it is said that a sin in Madinah is greater than a sin in other places. However, its doer does not deserve the curse. The one who deserves the curse is the one who introduces one of two things in it: either a bid'ah or a fitnah. Upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all of mankind.
The third. Yes, yes, the third:
O Allah, curse Ra'ila, Dhakwan, and Asiya; they defied Allah and His Messenger
These are tribes of the Arabs who committed aggression against the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So the Messenger cursed them with a curse: "O Allah, curse them." He did not curse a specific person, but he cursed the entire tribe. The intended meaning is the one among them who committed this act, which is the aggression against the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I do not think that this curse applies to one who did not do that. It does not apply to him, based on the statement of Allah the Exalted:
and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another
[Al-An'am 6:164]
And success is from Allah.
