Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: He (may Allah have mercy on him) said, in what he transmitted from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) "That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said Sahih Muslim 2623a Narrated by Muslim"
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
We have already gone over all these hadiths previously and explained them, so we will not return to them, but we will speak about some important points from them.
The hadith of Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saidSahih Muslim 2623a
This statement occurs in two ways:
The first way: that he says "The people are ruined," meaning they have fallen into sins and committed open sinfulness, intending thereby to purify himself and to disparage others. This is the most ruined of the people, because it nullifies his deeds while he is unaware, as in the story of the man who used to pass by an open sinner who was disobeying Allah, and he used to advise him, but he remained in his state of open sinfulness.Riyad as-Salihin 1576 He said this out of self-admiration and boasting before Allah (Mighty and Majestic). So Allah the Exalted said: Riyad as-Salihin 1576 Because he said it in pride and self-admiration, and in contempt for this man, and in deeming it unlikely that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) would forgive. And who would deem it unlikely that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) would forgive, except one who is ignorant of Allah (Mighty and Majestic)? He said: [Al-Hijr 15:56] So the one who says "The people are ruined, the people are lost, the people have committed open sinfulness," and the like of that, intending thereby to purify himself and disparage others, is the most ruined of the people, meaning the most severe in their ruin, and may Allah protect us from that.
When a person says that people are ruined he is himself ruined.
