Some people cite Abu Bakr’s statement, “If one side of my garment hangs down, I will not leave it that way,” as evidence for the permissibility of isbal. Is this evidence valid?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Does Abu Bakr’s hadith permit isbal except in cases of arrogance?

The Shaykh : Yes, these people have erred. They have erred and followed the ambiguous parts of the text. The person who follows the ambiguous parts is one who has deviation in his heart, may Allah protect us from that.
Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) did not let his garment hang down intentionally. He said, “It hangs down on me unless I attend to it.” Also, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) testified to Abu Bakr’s innocence. Does anyone testify to the innocence of these people?!
