The stronger opinion regarding the meaning of the hadith: “May Allah increase you in eagerness, and do not repeat it”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Do you remember the hadith
May Allah increase your eagerness! But do not do it again. زادك الله حرصًا ولا تَعُد
Sunan Abi Dawud 683Sahih (Al-Albani)
Ah, and as you also remember from the hadith of Abu Bakrah, which is cited in this Sahih that is before me, Volume One, and I was at that time speaking about the hadiths from the jurisprudential aspect more than I do in my later period, so I spoke in detail about the intended meaning of his saying (peace be upon him):
Do not repeat it لا تَعُدْ
. The point is that I mentioned there things and things that are not hidden from you.
The point is that the hadith could be interpreted to mean that
Do not return لا تعُد
proceeding to the bowing position outside the row, walking to the row, and catching up the rak'ah. I have inclined toward the view that this opinion is the weaker one, and that the stronger opinion is that the hadith does not intend this. I provided evidence for this with the hadith of Ibn al-Zubayr, which I mentioned earlier, and with authentic reports from Abu Bakr and those below him in rank. Now, here in the hadith of Ali ibn al-Hajjaj, I found an authentic report from Abu Bakrah himself that he did this, just as Abu Bakr and others did. I learned and mentioned this in the commentary: the narrator's opinion takes precedence over the opinion of others, because he is more knowledgeable about his own narration than others are. If the hadith is one he narrates, and then he acts contrary to that weaker opinion, this is the strongest evidence that the opinion is weak, and that his action is a proof in directing the hadith to the correct understanding, which is running to catch up the rak'ah. So I wanted you to keep this in mind.

The Shaykh: Yes, indeed, the second benefit is not very important, and I also connected it in some places, and now because it is not important to me, I did not focus it in my mind, so I do not remember it now, perhaps in the future, if Allah wills.
The student : ... .

The Shaykh: Ah, it is like that.
The student : ... .

The Shaykh: I have a copy of it.
The student : ... .

The Shaykh: It is a copy of a manuscript.
The student : ... .

The Shaykh: Or what, perhaps, because I did not mention it, nor did I put a Zahirite colophon on it.
The student : ... .

The Shaykh: Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The Shaykh: Ah, in my own handwriting, I mean.
The student : ... .

The Shaykh: Ah, ah, the point is that it is a handwritten manuscript.
The student : ... .

The Shaykh: Ah, I understood, and may Allah reward you with good, and I will review it now, may Allah reward you with good, goodbye.
The student : ... .

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
