What is called the porridge of the Prophet’s daughter is a denounced religious innovation

Q: It is customary for women in our country, Yemen, to cook porridge when one of their relatives, friends, or neighbors gives birth, and they distribute it among the houses. Whatever remains, they invite the relatives and friends to eat from this porridge, which they call "the porridge of the Prophet’s daughter," believing that it is she who delivered the baby. If someone refuses to eat it, they say that she does not love Fatimah, the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and that Fatimah is angry with her. What is the ruling on this practice? Is it permissible to eat from this porridge? Or does eating it carry the ruling of slaughtering for other than Allah?
A: This porridge is a denounced religious innovation with no basis. The Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) daughter did not have porridge (may Allah be pleased with her), and she does not benefit or harm; she benefits those who ally with her and harms those who oppose her. Rather, benefit and harm are in the hand of Allah , but she is the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) daughter and a noble Companion (may Allah be pleased with her). It is obligatory to love her for the sake of Allah and to ally with her for the sake of Allah, but she has no share in the matter; she does not benefit or harm anyone.
Therefore, it is obligatory for the believer to fear Allah, to hold fast to Allah, to rely upon Allah, and to worship Him alone; for He is the One who benefits and harms. So the believer asks his Lord for assistance and the well-being of his children, and asks Allah for whatever is most important of his needs and his children’s needs. As for preparing porridge in the name of the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), this is a religious innovation with no basis, so it is obligatory to abandon it.
And the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Fatimah, and likewise the other Companions, and likewise his cousin Ali, and likewise he himself (peace and blessings be upon him), do not possess for themselves any benefit or harm, nor death or life, nor resurrection. It is not permissible to call upon them other than Allah, nor to seek aid from them other than Allah, nor to seek support, nor to seek Fatimah, nor to seek Ali, nor any other of the Companions.
So seeking from Allah, and aid from Allah, and help from Allah, as He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said about His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in Surat al-A'raf: [al-A'raf:188] And He (Exalted and Majestic is He) said to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): [al-An'am:50] And He (Exalted and Majestic is He) said to His Prophet: [al-Jinn:21] So the matter is in the hand of Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
So if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) does not possess any harm or guidance, then his daughter Fatimah is even more so that she does not possess anything. Death overtook her six months after the death of her father, and she did not repel anything from herself (may Allah be pleased with her and grant her satisfaction).
The conclusion is that this porridge is a religious innovation and is denounced, and it is not permissible to do it or engage in it. Rather, when a woman gives birth, one should pray for her well-being and healing, advise her with what she needs, and assist her if she is poor with what helps her with her needs, such as money and food. As for this porridge, it is obligatory to abandon it, be cautious of it, and abandon this defective belief.
We ask Allah for safety and well-being from the misleading trials, for He is the All-Hearing, the Near.

Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me."
Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."
قُلْ إِنِّي لا أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَلا رَشَدًاSo if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) does not possess any harm or guidance, then his daughter Fatimah is even more so that she does not possess anything.
