The Response to Those Who Say That Aqeedah Is Complication and Burden

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: A person says: "Aqeedah is complication and burden." How should one respond to this statement?
A: This is a heinous statement if the speaker intends the aqeedah of tawhid, the aqeedah of the believers. This word is apostasy from Islam and disbelief in Allah; because its meaning is that there is no known benefit in it, and that it is complicated. This is ugly speech and apostasy from Islam, so the speaker must review himself, fear Allah, and repent to Him. Aqeedah is the foundation of the religion, and it is faith in Allah and His Messenger, the oneness of Allah, and sincerity to Him. It is the meaning of "La ilaha illa Allah," because its meaning is: there is no true object of worship except Allah. That is the oneness of Allah and sincerity to Him, leaving off associating partners with Him, believing in His names and attributes, obeying His commands, Glorified and Exalted is He, and leaving off His prohibitions. There is no complication in that; rather, all of it is clear to the one whom Allah has guided, inspired with rightness, and granted success in seeking the truth.

Explanation of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And those who disbelieve - their allies are Taghut. They take them out of the light into darknesses.وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَوْلِيَاؤُهُمْ الطَّاغُوتُ يُخْرِجُونَهُم مِّنَ النُّورِ إِلَى الظُّلُمَاتِ
[Al-Baqarah 2:257]

Q: Allah the Exalted said:
And those who disbelieve - their allies are Taghut. They take them out of the light into darknesses.وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَوْلِيَاؤُهُمْ الطَّاغُوتُ يُخْرِجُونَهُم مِّنَ النُّورِ إِلَى الظُّلُمَاتِ
[Al-Baqarah 2:257]
The verse [Surat al-Baqarah: 257]. What is intended by "the light" in the verse?

A: Indeed, Allah is the wali (close friend) of those who believe, and He supports them, aids them, and grants them success. He brings them out of the darknesses; the darknesses of shirk (associating partners with Allah), the darknesses of sins, and religious innovations, into the light of tawhid (the oneness of Allah), truth, and faith. This means: through the messengers, and through His revealed books. So the disbelievers of Quraysh, the disbelievers of the Children of Israel, and others, their awliya (close friends of Allah) are the taghut, and the taghut is Satan from among humans and jinn. The devils from among humans and jinn are the awliya of the disbelievers; they bring them out of the light of tawhid and truth into the darknesses of shirk, ignorance, sins, and religious innovations. So the light intended in this verse is: tawhid, faith, and guidance. And the darknesses are: shirk, sins, and religious innovations. We ask Allah for safety.
