Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “He brings them out of the darknesses into the light”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Allah the Exalted said:
And those who disbelieve - their allies are Taghut. They take them out of the light into darknesses.وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ أَوْلِيَآؤُهُمُ الطَّاغُوتُ يُخْرِجُونَهُم مِّنَ النُّورِ إِلَى الظُّلُمَاتِ
[Al-Baqarah 2:257]
The verse [Surat al-Baqarah: 257]. What is meant by (the light) in the verse?

Answer:
Indeed, Allah is the close friend of those who believe, and He supports them, aids them, and grants them success; He brings them out of the darknesses; the darknesses of shirk (associating partners with Allah), the darknesses of sins and religious innovations, into the light of tawhid (the oneness of Allah), truth, and faith; meaning by means of the messengers, and by means of His revealed books.
So the disbelievers of Quraysh, the disbelievers of the Children of Israel, and others, their close friends are the taghut, and taghut is: Satan from among humans and jinn, so the devils from among humans and jinn are the close friends of the disbelievers; they bring them out of the light of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) into the darknesses of shirk (associating partners with Allah), ignorance, sins, and religious innovations.
So the light in this verse is intended to mean: tawhid (the oneness of Allah), faith, and guidance, and the darknesses are: shirk (associating partners with Allah), sins, and religious innovations – we ask Allah for safety.
