Ruling on touching the mushaf while in a state of major ritual impurity
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Does one in a state of major ritual impurity read the Book of Allah from memory? And if that is not permissible, may he listen to it?
A: It is not permissible for one in a state of major ritual impurity to recite the Qur'an, neither from the mushaf nor from memory, until he performs the full ritual bath; because it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that nothing prevented him from the Qur'an except major ritual impurity.
As for listening to the recitation of the Qur'an, there is no blame on him in that; for it contains great benefit, without touching the mushaf or reciting from it.
