Reciting the Qur'an during work hours

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
from: K. M. - He says: I am an employee, and I read the Noble Qur'an during my free time at work, but my supervisor forbids me from doing so, saying that this time is for work, not for reading the Qur'an. What is the ruling on this? May Allah reward you with good.

A: If you have no work to do, there is no harm in reading the Qur'an, and likewise in saying the tasbih, the tahlil, and other dhikr, as this is better than remaining silent. However, if the reading occupies you in such a way that it prevents you from doing something related to your work, it is not permissible for you to do so, because the time is designated for work, and it is not permissible for you to occupy it with something that hinders you from working.
