Advice for the Owners of Video and Music Recording Shops

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
There are many establishments that encourage the spread of immorality and vice, such as video and music recording shops. What is your advice to the owners of these shops? And what is your advice to those who wish to call them to the truth?

Answer: The advice to all owners of the aforementioned shops is to fear Allah, and to beware of producing videos, tapes, or anything else that calls to falsehood. It is obligatory for anyone who has tapes, videos, or other such items to seek the truth, and to ensure that he possesses only what calls to good, truth, guidance, and righteousness. He must also beware of spreading falsehood by any means.
The authorities must monitor them with all firmness and strength. We ask Allah to help them fulfill their duty so that falsehood is prevented and those who are lax in exposing falsehood are disciplined.
It is obligatory for anyone who knows of such matters to report them to the authorities if he knows that someone is engaging in falsehood, harming people with it, and spreading vice. He must report the matter to the committees, to the Minister of the Interior, and to the governor of the country where it is located. In any country of the Kingdom, the matter is reported to the governor and the committee. There must be cooperation from everyone in righteousness and piety. One should not remain silent; the matter is raised to the governor and the head of the committee so that everyone cooperates to refute falsehood, establish the truth, and support it.
