Children’s Bedwetting on Mattresses and Clothes

Q: M. S. A. from Ras al-Khaimah says: I am an elderly woman who is blind, and I have a group of young children of similar ages. I constantly feel moisture on my clothes and on the mattresses in the house from their urine. Sometimes I feel it and wash it, and sometimes I do not feel it until after the prayer. I have no one to help me clean them. How should I pray? Is it permissible for me to rely on certainty? Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good.
A: It is obligatory for you, whenever you become aware of any impurity, to wash it, whether it is on the clothes or on a part of the body, before the prayer. If you prayed and did not know about it until after the prayer, you do not have to repeat it according to the most correct opinion of the scholars; because of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [al-Baqarah: 286] And it is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): He accepted this supplication, and it is established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he was praying one day in his sandals, and Jibril (peace be upon him) informed him that there was filth in them, so he took them off and completed his prayer.
As for impurity on the ground or on the mattresses, it is obligatory to pour water over it in a greater amount than the impurity, and it becomes pure thereby, because it is established from Abu Hurayrah and Anas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a Bedouin urinated in the mosque, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that a bucket of water be poured over his urine.
It is prescribed for you to seek the help of trustworthy male mahrams or trustworthy women who visit you to identify the locations of the urine on the mattresses, so that water can be poured over it.
May Allah guide us and you to what brings His pleasure and clears the conscience.
