Reciting the Qur'an at home after Fajr until the sun rises

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is staying at home after the Fajr prayer to recite the Qur'an until the sun rises, and then praying the two rak'ahs of the sunrise, the same reward as staying in the mosque? We ask your Eminence to inform us—may Allah prolong your life in His obedience.

A: This act contains much good and great reward, but the apparent meaning of the hadiths reported on this matter is that one does not obtain the same reward promised to the one who sits in his place of prayer in the mosque. However, if one prays Fajr at home due to illness or fear, then sits in his place of prayer remembering Allah or reciting the Qur'an until the sun rises, and then prays two rak'ahs, he obtains what is mentioned in the hadiths; because he is excused when he prays at home.
Likewise, if a woman sits in her place of prayer after the Fajr prayer, remembering Allah or reciting the Qur'an until the sun rises, and then prays two rak'ahs, she obtains that reward mentioned in the hadiths, which is that Allah writes for the one who does so the reward of a complete Hajj and 'Umrah. The hadiths on this matter are numerous, supporting one another, and they are from the category of hasan li-ghayrihi (good due to other supporting narrations). And Allah is the guarantor of success.
