The second question of Fatwa number ( 17597 )
Q2: A man sits in the mosque after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises, reciting the Qur'an and then prays two rak'ahs, but some people objected to him, saying it is not permissible because it is the act of sun worshippers. Please advise us on this, may you be rewarded?
A2: One who sits in his place of prayer after performing the Fajr prayer and occupies himself with reciting the Qur'an and the prescribed dhikr until the time of prohibition ends by the sun rising a spear's length, then stands and prays two rak'ahs or whatever is easy for him, is upon great good. His action is in accordance with the Sunnah, and he will be rewarded for it, if Allah wills. What indicates this is what Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 586Da'if (Darussalam) .
He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: , narrated by al-Tirmidhi who said it is a good, strange hadith. In a narration from Sahl ibn Mu'adh from his father (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Abi Dawud 1287Da'if (Al-Albani) , narrated by Imam Ahmad and Abu Dawud . In a narration: , and in a narration by al-Bayhaqi it is the same, except that he said at the end: . The hadith has many corroborating narrations that strengthen it. It is supported by what Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, saying: Riyad as-Salihin 820 meaning: a good rising. It was narrated by Imam Muslim in (his Sahih) and Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi and al-Nasa'i, As for the objection of some people to this man in his aforementioned action, which does not contradict the Shari'ah, it is a false objection with no basis in the Shari'ah, and it would only come from an ignorant person, so do not pay attention to it.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
