Does the one who prays with his wife in the night prayer recite aloud?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: From the questioner M. A. H. - Riyadh: If a man leads his wife in the night prayer, does he recite aloud in the prayer or not? Please give us a ruling, may Allah reward you with good.
A: The Sunnah in the night prayer is to recite aloud, whether the one praying is alone or with others. So if his wife or other women are praying with him, they pray behind him, even if it is just one woman. As for if he is praying alone, he has the choice between reciting aloud and reciting quietly, and it is prescribed for him to do what is best for his heart. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was asked about that, and she said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the night prayer would sometimes recite aloud and sometimes quietly.كان النبي ﷺ في صلاة الليل ربما جهر وربما أسر
And it was established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) from the hadith of Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) and others:
That he (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite aloud in the night prayer, and he would stop at a verse of mercy and ask, and at a verse of warning he would seek refuge, and at a verse of glorification he would glorify.أنه ﷺ كان يجهر بالقراءة في صلاة الليل ويقف عند آية الرحمة فيسأل وعند آية الوعيد فيتعوذ وعند آية التسبيح فيسبح
The meaning is that when mentioning the verses containing the names and attributes of Allah, he would glorify Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said:
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent patternلَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ
[Al-Ahzab: 21] And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayersصلوا كما رأيتموني أصلي
Sahih al-Bukhari 6008
Al-Bukhari narrated it in his Sahih.
These hadiths indicate that reciting aloud in the night prayer is better, and because that is more reverent for the heart and more beneficial for the listeners, unless there are sick people, sleepers, or those praying or reciting around him. In that case, it is better to lower the voice in a way that does not result in distracting the worshippers and reciters, waking the sleepers, or disturbing the sick. And if he recites quietly in part of the night prayer when he is alone, there is no blame on him, due to the aforementioned hadith of Aisha. And because that may be more reverent for his heart and more comfortable for him at some times. And success is from Allah.
