The position of a boy in prayer with the imam, and whether reaching puberty is a condition for it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: If a man leads two boys or more, should he place them behind him or to his right, and is reaching puberty a condition for a boy to stand in a row?

A: What is prescribed in this case is to place them behind him, just as with those of legal age, if they are seven years old or older. Likewise, if there is a boy and a person of legal age, he places them behind him. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed with Anas and the orphan and placed them behind him when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) visited Anas’s grandmother. Likewise, when Jabir and Jabbar from the Ansar stood in a row with him, he placed them behind him.
As for one person, he is to be placed to his right, whether he is a man or a boy. This is because when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood with Ibn Abbas to his left in the night prayer, he moved him to his right.
Likewise, Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) prayed with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in some voluntary prayers and he placed him to his right. As for a woman, if there are more, she is to be behind the men, and it is not permissible for her to stand in a row with the imam or with the men. This is because when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed with Anas and the orphan, he placed Umm Sulaym behind them, and she was Anas’s mother.
