If a group shares in a single hunt, what is obligatory upon them?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If a group shares in a single hunt, what is obligatory upon them?

The Shaykh : If a group shares in a single hunt, it is obligatory upon them to pay a single expiation.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. What is the difference between this issue and the issue of a group sharing in the killing of a person?

The Shaykh : The difference is apparent, because Allah said:
the penalty is an equivalent from sacrificial animals to what he killed فجزاء مثل ما قتل من النعم
[Al-Ma'idah 5:95]
And if they kill a single game, they pay a single expiation, and thus they have fulfilled the command. As for the issue of a group being killed for one person, that is out of respect for human souls, the souls of Adam’s descendants. For this reason, ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered the execution of seven men from Sana’a who had shared in the killing of one person. He said: “If the people of Sana’a had conspired against him, I would have killed them all for it”.
