How is the changing of evil performed by one who hears words of disbelief from someone, or who curses Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A final question, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : He says: If I hear a person cursing Allah.

The Shaykh : There is no god but Allah.

The questioner : And words of disbelief and insults come from his mouth, what must I do? Do I correct him with my hand? Do I only deny this in my heart?

The Shaykh : This matter returns to matters in the Shari'ah — and peace be upon you — among which is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has not strength enough to do it, then he should do it with his tongue, and if he has not strength enough to do it, (even) then he should (abhor it) from his heart, and that is the least of faith. مَن رأى منكم منكرًا فليغيِّرْه بيده ، فإن لم يستطع فبلسانه ، فإن لم يستطع فبقلبه ؛ وذلك أضعف الإيمان
Sahih Muslim 49a
. So, this person who heard someone cursing the Lord of the Worlds, if his faith is strong, he disciplines him. But I say that disciplining a Muslim today for such a curser of the Lord of the Worlds may not be endured in terms of the outcome of this cursing, because of the corruption of the ruling that we constantly and eternally complain about, which does not support the one who holds fast to the ruling of the Shari'ah, but may be against him, so he has no support. If this person who wants to be in the highest rank of enjoining good and forbidding evil is prepared in his state to die in the path of Allah, let him discipline him, but do not kill him, because killing is a ruling that is not permissible to execute except within limits that only the scholars know. As for disciplining him by striking him and harming him, etc., after making him understand his crime, this is undoubtedly the first rank of the ranks of faith. But what we fear is that the one whom the Islamic storm takes and directs him to discipline this curser will regret what he did later when he does not endure the harm of imprisonment or punishment or the like of the unjust ruling. So, if he fears for himself this fear, let him descend to the second rank:
With his tongue. فبلسانه
. And in most cases, no harm results from this for this one who enjoins good and forbids evil. And if he is a coward and fears the wind, then at that time he may descend to the third and final rank, which is not followed by an atom of faith, and that is to deny with his heart.
